Faculty & Staff Award Opportunities
The Chancellor's Awards for Excellence are system-level honors conferred to acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
These programs underscore SUNY’s commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving the public good.
Through these awards, SUNY publicly proclaims its pride in the accomplishment and personal dedication of its instructional faculty, librarians, and professional staff across its campuses. The awards provide SUNY-wide recognition in five categories: Faculty Service, Librarianship, Professional Service, Scholarship and Creative Activities, and Teaching.
President's Awards for Excellence are given annually to those individuals who make significant and extraordinary contributions to the university.
Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has been this country's flagship international educational exchange program. It provides competitive, merit-based grants for U.S. citizens to study, conduct research, and apply their talents abroad, and for citizens of other countries to reciprocate in the United States. Earning a prestigious Fulbright grant is affirmation of a recipient’s dedication to excellence.
At Buffalo State, 17 faculty members from a wide range of disciplines have been selected to participate in the Fulbright Program. Buffalo State students have the unique opportunity to study with these faculty members and learn from their Fulbright experiences. The ultimate promise of the program is to increase mutual understanding between people of the United States and people around the world. Buffalo State proudly plays a part in this process.
